Job Title: Social Media Strategist

Location: San Diego, CA

Overview:

We have a newly created role for a Social Media Strategist to join our agile and creative team to drive action through social media intelligence utilizing social listening and social analytics. You are already deeply immersed in social media and are both a strategist able to see the human side of social media but data driven with a need to back up findings with data.

This role is based is an important hire to accelerate the use of social intelligence at Teradata. This position will be able to answer questions on how social media KPI’s relate to larger business objectives and will be responsible for data driven strategic thinking, planning and reporting for the marketing organization. We are looking for this position to create a precedent for social media reporting at Teradata and validate its purpose through social data.

You Will:

  • Build and execute smart listening queries for the Teradata brand, our customers, our competitors, industry trends, sentiment and insights

  • Continuously execute A/B tests to refine the queries and increase the performance of useful data to drive business results

  • Establish the reporting needs by team and develop the reporting cadence based on research results, need and inquiries

  • Utilizing the social data, translate it into valuable internal reporting on everything positive and negative sentiment, to tracking current trends to next generation ideas while utilizing the information to affect future content strategies

  • Leverage social media analytics to manage the paid social media strategy

  • Manage Teradata’s social integration with SEO practices on everything from blog optimization to You Tube playlists

  • Leverage social analytics to optimize video performance on Teradata’s You Tube channel

  • Manage Instagram analytics and reporting on both organic and paid posts and campaigns

  • Manage Twitter analytics reports and day to day strategy adjustments as the data changes

  • Manage Facebook audience insights for more accurate audience targeting

  • Manage hashtag tracking and reporting including recommendations for available hashtag opportunities

  • Manage sentiment reporting and analysis and translate social data into actionable steps

  • Lead cross functional reporting with insights from social listening data that enable this position to strategically provide an overview of influencers, customers, competitors, keywords and conversations as it relates to our social and sales channels and verticals to support customer success, marketing and sales efforts

  • Direct, manage and develop reporting template standards to allow for meaningful insight and strategy; strategically aligning the social team with ongoing account based marketing program analysis

  • Lead and manage data visualizations across the organization for social platforms and internal dashboards including but not limited to the social media listening center

  • Direct and manage the strategic partnership with ABM Sales and internal marketing teams to understand business and marketing goals and leverage analytics to advance these goals.

  • Present analytics reporting to internal teams and make recommendations

  • Own social data. Consult with internal teams to drive business decisions, gauge brand recall and drive future social media strategy

  • Enforce social media terms of use by carefully monitoring reports of abuse on our platforms

  • Identify inefficiencies in social media workflows and suggest solutions

  • Create and interpret corporate reporting and analysis as well as campaign level reporting (e.g., quarterly updates, platform growth, influencer dashboard)

  • Build stories from social data, crafting powerful presentations that delivers the results and analysis of the primary research in a visual manner that can be presented to the CMO and the entire Marketing organization

Requirements:

  • 4-7 Years of digital marketing and social media listening experience with advanced knowledge of social listening tools (Sprinklr, Crimson Hexagon, Simply Measured or equivalent tools)

  • Advanced query building capabilities

  • Skilled in Boolean search logic

  • Prior experience using BI/Visualization tools

  • Strong qualitative skills with ability to mine data and articulate trends and insight

  • Proven track record solving complex marketing challenges

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills

  • BS degree required; MS degree a plus.

  • Ability to turn social data into stories and communicating results to the CMO

  • Advanced analytical skills and have prior hands-on experience working with social listening software

Ideally you would have:
