Business Intelligence and Cognitive Design Principal Consultant, New York As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the sales process to develop and lead significant opportunities within Teradata accounts. You will also be developing a team of relevant practice experts and representing the company as a recognized thought leader, player-coach, and subject matter expert within the Business Intelligence and Cognitive Design practice. Industry experts in front-end BI tools, design thinking, and visualization are instrumental in selling and delivering business-focused analytics services to Teradata’s existing customers and new target customers across both open and commercial platforms, thereby providing business outcomes and ROI. The organization works with a technology-agnostic approach but uses Teradata software assets and frameworks to target complex, high-value use cases that require scalable and agile infrastructure to deliver results. Key Areas of Responsibility •Partner with other Consulting Directors to execute our mission to drive revenue through a business outcome led, technology enabled strategy. Reporting line to the Practice Director, Business Intelligence and Cognitive Design. •Support sales and project delivery as a subject matter expert, driving standardization of capabilities and IP assets across the Americas. Work with Geography Directors to define project scope and provide input on proposals, contracts, and pricing. •Develop strong working relationships with the Teradata Consulting team to create and manage integrated services offerings for customers. •Monitor industry trends and develop standard messaging, sales decks, and marketing materials within the Business Intelligence and Cognitive Design practice. •Lead and manage a team of experts and senior consultants with focus on incubation of new business opportunity areas, community leadership, IP development and capture, repeatable offerings, and support of the sales teams. •Serve as a player-coach, both individually contributing to project delivery in the practice and coaching other consultants. •Drive and monitor consultant contributions to Velocity Services and drive repeatable offerings into Strategic Offering Management. •Instill a culture of creating, capturing, and replicating IP within the practice in cooperation with the Geography Leads and Knowledge Management function. •Advise senior client leaders in Business Intelligence and Cognitive Design. •Drive $3-5MM annually in Business Intelligence and Cognitive Design Opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent work experience. •Extensive prior experience and ability to serve as a subject matter expert in one of the following areas: BI / Visualization, Design Thinking or Analytics Solution Development. •Excellent people development and talent management skills, including the ability to support practice members as a player-coach. •Ability to work cross-functionally in matrix organization where internal relationship building and credibility is critical. •Ability to apply critical thinking to develop and solve business challenges. •Exceptional consulting skills in communicating, establishing strategic direction, influencing others, negotiating skills, operational decision making, problem solving, facilitating and managing meetings, and questioning and probing. •Highly skilled in value proposition development, focusing on the customer, and business needs analysis. •Strong understanding of market trends and technologies. This includes a solid understanding and experience using data with advanced analytics, business intelligence, data warehouse solutions, and big data analytics to improve business performance. •Excellent customer executive and senior level relationship building capabilities. Preferred Skills •Master’s Degree •Experience leading large-scale BI-program portfolios in Retail, Financial Services, Consumer Packaged Goods, Media and Tech. This position is working in a virtual office environment, including home, office and customer site. Travel up to 70% is also expected depending on the location of the candidate.
