As Industry Consultant, you will be joining global strategic services division, where business consulting, data science, data engineering and BI is combined to drive business outcomes through data and analytics, enabled by world leading analytics ecosystems and services organization in Teradata.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant with an entrepreneurial approach who wants to develop new and innovative consulting business as well as assure that our customers drive value from analytics and data. The candidate needs to be data and analytics savvy, someone who can identify new sources of value from data and can provide the critical link between data science, engineering, BI and business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will
Act as the trusted adviser and influencer to customer senior management of various business departments.
Leverage industry experience and research to develop a cohesive strategy in the retail arena.
Identify new business opportunities for analytical Big Data ecosystem solutions & services and write proposals
Work with business SMEs to develop high level business requirements for reporting and analytics, then work with business analysts to shape these into detailed requirements for analytical ecosystem solutions & services including the data warehouse and data lake.
Provide direction to account teams on key areas of a customer business to target; based on experience within retail and the use of data.
Support the delivery of data and analytics consulting engagements as an industry SME helping to build business cases from insights, as well as carrying out knowledge and IP capture for reuse.
Work with Teradata’s consulting services organisation and partners to develop relationships in support of the go to market approach.
Preferably, you are deeply involved in one of the German retail brands, solving problems and driving change. For this role, you don’t require experience from a consulting firm but a willingness and capability to adopt to a consulting approach. We seek candidates with a minimum of 10 - 15 years’ experience in the retail sector with the following skills:
Practitioner with hands-on experience and a passion for driving business change through data and analytics projects in the retail sector.
Demonstrable track record of initiating and delivering projects that have been embedded in business processes and yielded a strategic return.
Network of business decision makers throughout different core departments of one or more of Germany’s large retailers.
Credible in front of C level executives and their leadership teams. Have become a trusted advisor, ability to innovate strategically and providing direction and best practice in the use of data to over-achieve business goals.
Ability to consult with senior business management and other business stakeholders on eye level to identify pain points and align to data driven solutions.
Experience of building convincing business cases based on the application of analytics and converting into live, fully funded projects.
Ability to tell business value stories with data, excite business stakeholders on the insight that has been created and articulate the approach to realising business value.
General knowledge of analytical techniques and ability to understand the application of the appropriate technique to the specific business challenge.
Ability to navigate through complex customer organisations and increase your network strategically.
