Presales Sr. Consultant/ Sales Engineer (SE) – Milwaukee GE Healthcare

The Pre-Sales Sr. Consultant SE is a senior level position that leverages Big Data, data warehouse and analytical technical knowledge to promote sales of Teradata analytical solutions. The SE has broad knowledge of the Big Data, data warehouse and analytic space, and experience with Teradata products and technologies. The SE articulates analytical ecosystem architectures and trends, and provides technical consulting as a trusted advisor to support sales activities. The SE establishes and enhances customer relationships ranging from DBA to CIO, and provides technical expertise on engagements and identifies new target opportunities within our accounts.Overall Job Purpose:• Serves as trusted technical advisor to client• Drive sales of Teradata products, solutions, and services• Increase use of Teradata systems through value-add opportunities• Demonstrates technical expertise and credibility with customers, from DBA to CIO• Understand and advise customers on data ecosystem architectures• Partners with account executive on account planning and strategy• Work with overall account team to identify sales opportunities• Operate the internal ordering process, from sizing to deliveryKey Responsibilities• Spends significant time working with technical client resources who are considering Teradata, Teradata partner and open source technologies to understand how they are used, what data is on them, and how they might be improved• Documents client’s current analytical framework/architecture and organizational data flow• Understand and communicate customer-specific value of Teradata solutions and how they integrate with the customers analytical ecosystem.• Manages relationships with client stakeholders as the key advisor on analytic architecture• Creates client interest in Teradata solutions, advancing the sales process• Syncs daily with account team lead to discuss account strategy and future sales opportunitiesKey Attributes of Success• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas• Deep technical understanding of analytic systems• Technical sales / presales experience• Ability to develop customer relationships• Knowledge of the larger competitive landscape• Leadership to drive disparate teams to deliveryWork EnvironmentThe Solution Architect will work from a virtual (home) office with considerable time required onsite with customer(s). 30%+ travel is required, dependent on account responsibilities/activities and location from home office. Basic Qualifications• Seven years or more of operational or technical data management platform implementation experience.• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse and Analytical ecosystem architectures that include functions such as data acquisition, data containers, analytical tools, end user consumption, and governance• Client interface and consulting skills required, with special focus on clear communications• Experience with data management technologies such as Hadoop and/or Big Data Discovery environments• Proven capabilities in relational database and application development environments using (Teradata, DB2, Oracle, Hadoop, Spark, etc.) and operational knowledge of third party data transformation and BI tools (COGNOS, Business Objects, Informatica, etc.)• Significant experience supporting analytical applications and working with advanced analytics professionals• BS in Computer Science, or comparable experiencePreferred Skills and Qualifications• MBA or other related Master’s Degree• Previous Pre-Sales role at an analytical hardware and/or software company• Hands-on working knowledge with the Teradata RDBMS, including Teradata Workload Management, Performance Optimization, and System Performance troubleshooting• Hands-on experience with developing predictive analytical models, machine learning• Hands-on experience with emerging technologies such as Spark• Experience in Executive communication sessions• Experience in the Healthcare industry with emphasis on clinical medicine and patient journey• Hands-on with developing applications associated with healthcare analytics.
