Teradata Architect Consultant in BEIJING, China
Understand the client's business goals, IT plans, and architectures and articulate linkage to the proposed data warehouse architecture and application designs.
Design and develop the architecture, roadmap, and standards for the enterprise data warehouse that will align with the customer business and IT objectives.
Design and develop a technical architecture for integration of the data warehouse into the client's enterprise.
Be a trusted adviser to the client's decision makers by establishing credibility and expertise in data warehouse technology and Teradata's solution offerings.
Work with Teradata project managers to scope projects and develop a statement of work, project plan, and risk analysis.
Provide technical thought leadership and actively participate in the design, implementation, and roll-out efforts.
Make hardware sizing and configuration recommendations.
Advanced technical skills including high-volume data warehouse design, ETL tool utilization, SQL programming, Perl scripting, and C/C++ coding
Extensive experience with data warehousing concepts including ETL best practices, dimensional modeling and business intelligence support
Extensive performance tuning experience in a multi-terabyte relational database environment
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present sophisticated technical concepts to a broad range of individuals
Excellent command of software development life cycle activities including analysis, design, development, unit and system testing, and production deployment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex transactional data into valuable analytical information
BS degree in CS or equivalent
6+ years IT experience including 3+ years implementing high availability, large-scale data warehouse systems
Significant experience as a technical leader on high productivity development teams, high self-motivation for success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Travel is required
